Trail Head: Oak Street and Old 66 Highway, Carthage MO 64836

The Ruby Jack Trail – a 16 mile “Rails to Trails” project that starts at Carthage, MO and goes through the towns of Oronogo and Carl Junction, and extends all the way to the Kansas State Line traversing farmland, wetland, and woodland. Although the entire length of the trail is open to the public, the western portion is pretty rough. Because the surface is rough, 2012, the trail is suited to mountain biking and hiking. There are plans to improve the surface to accommodate hybrid bikes.
There is a trail head with parking located in Carthage near the intersection of Oak Street and Old 66 Highway. It is located across the street from the city golf course. The GPS Coordinates for the trail head are: N 37° 10.547′ W 94° 20.701′.
Please be careful when hiking or biking on the trail. Remember, use of any motorized vehicle on the trail is expressly forbidden.
