The Carthage Convention & Visitors Bureau is proud of a successful Carthage Travel Workers Rally in celebration of National Travel & Tourism Week. U.S. Travel Rally Day was observed this year on May 8 in over 75 destinations nationwide. The Carthage Travel Rally coincided with the soft opening of the Historic Boots Hotel and the owners were very gracious hosts of our Rally. In the photos below, you will see Mayor Mike Harris reading the Travel Rally Proclamation. Terry Heckmaster of Precious Moments Chapel and Gardens stands by on the left and Wendi Douglas of the Carthage Convention & Visitors Bureau is on the right holding a blue ribbon and giant scissors. We were also joined on site by Debye Harvey and Priscilla Bledsaw-Boots Motel owners, Steve McIntosh from Senator Roy Blunt’s office, over 100 school children, community leaders and residents.
This Travel Rally was a triumph and we are already looking forward to holding a Carthage Travel Rally in 2013!
