Operated by the Carthage Kiwanis, Kiddieland is open Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 2 pm to 5 pm Memorial Day through Labor Day.
In the early 1950′s, the Carthage Kiwanis Club bought a miniature train. The club laid a one-quarter mile oval track on which to run the train, and built a station to load and unload train passengers. In succeeding years, the club added a kiddiecar drive, an airplane ride and whirling tubs. A total of five rides with the addition of a courosel in 2012 now make up the amusement park. The Carthage Kiwanis lay claim to being the largest NON PROFIT amusement park in the USA. Kiddieland provides a healthy, fun atmosphere for young people. The Kiwanis keep the cost of the rides purposely low to make Kiddieland available for as many young people as possible. The rides are $0.50 each. The club uses the proceeds to support local charities sponsored by the Carthage Kiwanis Club to improve community lifestyle.
